Wax melts are scented pieces of wax without a wick. They come in different shapes and sizes. A wax melt will give off a nice scent unmelted, this scent is known as the cold throw. However, they are designed for their scent to be release slowly when warmed using a wax warmer, this is called hot throw. Our wax melts are meant to have a long-lasting and strong hot throw. Wax melts are simple to use and will fill your place with an amazing aroma for hours.
Using wax melts require a wax warmer. Wax warmers come in a variety of shapes, styles, and designs. A wax warmer can be electric or use a tea light as a heat source. You can use any type of warmer you'd like, but we recommend electric warmers with 40 watt light bulbs because they seem to work best with our wax melts.
To use your wax melts, you will need to either open one of our single #Meltdown clamshells or open a tin of #GummyMelts. Place your #Meltdown cube or #GummyMelts bears on the wax warmer tray. For wax cubes, try not to use more than one cube at a time. If you are using #GummyMelts, you can use 3-5 bears at a time depending on your desired fragrance intensity. Once you have placed the wax melts in the burner, do not add water or oil to your wax melts.
To begin using your scented wax melts, you will first need to turn your wax warmer on. If you have an electric warmer, find a safe space to begin your warming process and plug the electric warmer into any electrical outlet. Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a table or counter, and make sure the cord is not in contact with any hot surfaces. Press the “on” switch to activate your warmer, or follow the instructions that came with your warmer. Make sure not to move your warmer when it is holding a container of hot wax. Once you have turned your warmer "On" the wax will begin to melt and your room will be filled with fragrance for hours!
Once you are done using your scented wax melts, you will need to make sure your wax warmer is turned off. After you have switched your warmer to its "off" setting, disconnect it from the wall by gripping the plug from its base; never pull the cord to disconnect.
1. When the wax is melted, take the warmer dish and dump the hot wax in the garbage. Make sure there is paper or something in the garbage to absorb the wax or it might melt a hole in your bag. Wipe warmer plate with paper towel.
2. Place the warmer plate with hardened wax into the freezer for 5-10 minutes then the wax will pop out of the warmer plate.
3. Put 2-3 ice cubes on top of the hardened wax for a 1-2 minutes and pop the hardened wax right out of the warmer plate.
You can either throw the wax into the garbage can or you can make fire starters. To make a wax and lint fire starter, save up hardened wax melts and a bunch of lint from the dryer. Take a paper egg carton and put a big wad of dryer lint into each cup of the carton. Melt the candle wax in a double boiler. The easiest way to do this is to put the stubs in a clean tin can, and put that can in a saucepan about halfway full of water. When the wax is melted, fill each cup of the carton up to the top with wax, soaking the lint. When the wax solidifies tear the carton apart, but keep the wax and lint in the individual paper carton sections. Light the torn edges of the cup to start the fire starter burning. The paper of the carton helps to get the wax and dryer lint burning.
